Another month, another batch of free games for Xbox Live Gold Members.

Two Xbox One only games will be going free in November in the form of Pneuma: Breath of Life and Knight Squad. Pneuma will be free all month, while Knight Squad will be free from Nov. 16 to Dec. 15.

If you've never heard of those two games before, don't worry. You definitely aren't alone in that regard. Pneuma is a first person puzzle game that will immediately conjure up memories of the classic Myst series. Knight Squad, on the other hand, is a top-down multiplayer title that is sort of like competitive Gauntlet. Sort of.

On the Xbox 360 side of things, players will be able to download Dungeon Siege III and Dirt 3. Dirt 3 will be free for the first half of the month (Nov. 1-15) with Dungeon Siege going free from Nov. 16-30. Both titles are solid entries in their respective genres, though nothing that will knock anybody's socks off.

While none of these four titles are super exciting, November does mark the first month that all Xbox One users will be able to play all four free games thanks to the upcoming backwards compatibility update on Nov. 12. From here on out each Xbox 360 game releases for free as part of Games with Gold will be backwards compatible, doubling the number of free titles for Xbox One users once the New Xbox One experience dashboard is up and running on all Xbox One consoles.

That's a definite upgrade for the program, which continues to lag behind Sony's monthly free PlayStation Plus titles. You can read more about November's free Xbox Live Gold games over on Major Nelson's official blog. This week's Deals with Gold has a Halloween theme, with a number of horror (see: Zombie) titles getting deep discounts.
