Trusted developer Steve Troughton-Smith has found some interesting things in the Apple TV tvOS that might hint at future Apple TV capabilities.

Tweaking around the Apple tvOS, the developer found a way to bring up folder support in the new operating system. It was earlier this week when Apple released the new tvOS to developers, and folder support was one of the features many realized it was lacking.

Not only was Smith able to unlock the folders, but he also found a way of getting them to work by using the LLDB software debugger. Since then, the developer has been playing around with folders and has also been sharing screenshots on Twitter.

The developer noted how users can rename the folders to whatever name they desire, if they don't want to leave the default names they came with based on the app categories in the App Store. This is similar to how things work in iOS.

If users want to delete an app from the folder, they can just press the play/pause button on the Apple TV remote control. Furthermore, each folder can hold up to 9 apps at a time. Also, apps can be rearranged, similar to how things work in iOS 9.

Apps can also be placed on top of each other to automatically create a folder.

It is not yet clear when or if Apple plans to officially add support for folders in tvOS, but since the feature is there, we're guessing this is something the company has in the pipeline.

Apple TV was launched earlier this week to great reviews from around the web. The device is designed to stream content from the web to a TV or anything that supports the hardware. The new Apple TV comes with a remote that is capable of allowing the user to make voice commands using Siri. The device is also more powerful and functional when compared to the older model.
