The sacrifices of the men and women in uniform will be honored all week in the popular long-standing game shows "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy" as a way to celebrate Veterans Day on Nov. 11. Both television shows are cooperating with Got Your 6, a campaign that aims to support veterans and help them find opportunities outside of military service.

"Wheel of Fortune" host Pat Sajak is an army veteran himself and he is excited to help out with the campaign. Meanwhile, "Jeopardy" host Alex Trebek has also been active in boosting the morale of military personnel by participating in United Service Organization (USO) trips.

The game show also uploaded a special feature on its very own veteran who served in Vietnam. Pat Sajak talks about the special Veterans week tribute, recounts his own experiences and extends his gratitude to other veterans around the globe.

"Particularly in this all-volunteer era, it's easy to forget about the sacrifices made by them and their families" Sajak said.

In honor of the special day, "Wheel of Fortune" invited real military veterans as contestants in the show and, with the participation of presenter Vanna White, to tape a series of public service announcements (PSA) that refute common myths about army veterans.

"They paint a picture of veterans as "broken." As a result, veterans often say they feel more pity than respect from the civilian population. When veterans fail to successfully reintegrate, it is often because their communities do not expect them to succeed or excel," the Got Your 6 website explains.

Trebek recorded PSAs for the campaign and will have a special Veterans-related category for the show presented by "Modern Family" cast member, Eric Stonestreet.

The special tribute and recorded PSAs are for Got Your 6's program "Storytellers" which is a venue to display the talent, skills and ideas of veterans.
