Bath time is about to get more fun with a Bluetooth rubber ducky called Edwin, which is waterproof and buoyant, and has a speaker inside.

The ducky is both a wireless speaker and a nightlight on the inside and is much smarter than other bath toys. Edwin is able to make as many as 180 different noises, such as quacks, flapping wings, and ruffling feathers. Not only that, but when combined with an iOS or Android app, the ducky can sing a song through the speaker. If he gets put underwater, the song will sound more like a gurgle.

Edwin was made by a company called Pi Lab, which is also developing an app that will be able to gauge if the water is too hot or cold with the help of the device's inbuilt thermometer. A light on Edwin will also turn either red or blue depending on the different thresholds of temperature that have been set.

The rubber ducky can even detect the surface temperature of a child's skin to help determine if the child has a fever.

Based on testing with Edwin, Pi Lab says, children even enjoyed watching movies with Edwin, with users able to play audio through the ducky so that they didn't have to crank up the volume on a tablet.

Once bath time is over and it's time to head to bed, Edwin can be used as a little nightlight.

The Sleepy Time app will also be available for the device to allow users to control things, such as brightness, and stream a range of sounds, including rainfall, white noise and heartbeats, to make for a more relaxing sleeping environment.

The device is sold for $100 and is available from EdwinTheDuck.com.
