Silent Hills may have been canceled, but this hasn't kept game protagonist Norman Reedus from hoping for a future collaboration with directors Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro.

In a recent exclusive interview, the 46-year-old actor talked about his disappointment over the cancellation of the survival horror video game, which was under development by Kojima Productions for PS4. However, Reedus also shared that there can be something in store for him and the directors.

"I'm super bummed that that happened back in Japan," he said. "But I have faith. I have faith that we, the three of us, can do something else."

Reedus star also recounted his regret over the lost opportunities on account of the cancellation of the game.

"There were so many ideas and cool future happenings that were thrown around. I just can't see us not picking this up somewhere," he added.

Another factor that led Reddus into hoping for a collaboration with Kojima and del Toro was the support from the fan base.

"The internet buzz about [Silent Hills] happening was so huge. I've never seen anything like it; petitions with a hundred thousand people that signed it, petitions to please make it happen, that's crazy."

The "Walking Dead" star is no stranger to internet buzz, or crazy fan bases. His first film was way back in 1997, in the del Toro horror thriller film, "Mimic." Since then he has appeared in films such as "Moscow Chill," "Hero Wanted," "American Gangster," "8mm," "Gossip," "Blade II," "Deuces Wild," "Six Ways to Sunday" and "The Boondock Saints."

His best-known role, perhaps, is as Daryl Dixon is AMC's hit series, "The Walking Dead."

Despite his role in Silent Hills, Reedus is still in the dark as regards the actual game content.

"We did some stuff for it, but we never got into the full story stuff. We were about to and that water balloon burst."

Though the chances of the game's revival are slim to none, Reedus is keeping his fingers crossed for a collaboration of some sort.

"I have faith that we're going to do something though because it just seems like it was one of those things that needs to happen. It's like destiny, it needs to happen."
