Star Wars fans have a new teaser to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. On Thrusday morning, yet another trailer was dropped online to promote the upcoming film. Taking the center stage for this newest look at “The Force Awakens” is the mysterious masked villain everybody is talking about: Kylo Ren.

Not much is known about Ren's origins. He was once a member of the Order of Ren, from where he gets his name, and for reasons that have yet to be revealed, he reveres Darth Vader and has been scouring the galaxy for relics of his idol. It has also been speculated that his unique light saber, which looks sputtery and unstable and features a cross guard for the first time ever, may also be a clue that he was not formally educated in the finer arts of The Force.

Incidentally, a Star Wars exhibit has revealed that the cross guard may actually be exhaust ports for Ren's red light saber.

The new one-minute trailer once again opens with the already familiar voice of Supreme Leader Snoke, who will be played by Andy Serkis.

"There's been an awakening. Have you felt it?" asks Snoke ominously. Although we don't know yet what this evil overlord will look like, his presence is already widely felt.

After exactly one year to the day that the question was first asked when the first teaser for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” was revealed to the legions of fans who have been eagerly waiting for the very first look at the sequel to the beloved movies, he finally gets an answer.

Ren, played by Adam Driver, says determinedly, “Yes,” then leads a battalion of Stormtroopers off a battleship.

The newest trailer is the longest teaser we have been given since the surprise international trailer was unveiled. We also get treated to more shots of Captain Phasma (Gwendolyn Christie underneath the badass brass Stormtrooper armor), and Han Solo still being an action hero after all those years.

In the end, Snoke and Ren clearly show that even as the Light side of The Force awakens in this new generation of Star Wars heroes, so too the Dark side rises with a new legion of villains.

We will face them. December 18, 2015.
