A new trailer for the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake by Square Enix was revealed over the weekend at the PlayStation Experience event, which made fans of the iconic role-playing game shudder even more in anticipation for the release of the title.

The trailer revealed an action RPG that gave a fresh take on the turn-based combat of the game, along with a massive cosmetic upgrade that immerses gamers even deeper into the world of Final Fantasy VII.

The trailer featured the start of the story of Final Fantasy VII, when the game's main character Cloud Strife joined the group Avalanche to attack a Shinra reactor, along with a sneak peek into how battles will play out. However, there was some information included elsewhere that deserves to be mentioned.

A press release that was sent out by Square Enix on Final Fantasy VII Remake said that the game will be unfolding over several entries, with each entry of the game providing gamers with its own unique experience.

The information stated by Square Enix in the press release could mean a variety of things, but the main theory is that Final Fantasy VII Remake will be episodic, which means that it will be broken up into several parts due to the title's size. The vastly improved graphics would surely be one of the culprits for such a case. With the original game for the PlayStation spanning three discs, it could mean that Final Fantasy VII Remake would be split into three episodes, with each episode corresponding to one of the original game's discs.

Final Fantasy VII fans, however, have raised other possible meanings to what Square Enix mentioned in the press release. One user mentioned that Final Fantasy VII Remake could be split up into episodes because they are making the game longer, such as by spending more time in the giant hub of Midgar with additional side quests and chances for character development.

Another gamer is hoping that Square Enix's press release meant that other games in the Final Fantasy VII universe such as Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII and Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII will be getting the same remake treatment.

It is going to be a long wait until Final Fantasy VII Remake finally launches, but hopefully more information about the game's nature will be revealed soon.
