Netflix giveth, and Netflix taketh away.

Netflix has announced its latest streaming offerings coming to the service starting August 1, 2014, as well as titles on their way out as of the end of July. There's a little something for everyone among the new content, with plenty of dramas and romance movies, but the big news is the highly anticipated fourth and final season of "The Killing."

The streaming service is quickly becoming known more for its original, quality TV series than its catalog of on-demand movies. Major hits like "House of Cards" and "Orange is the New Black" are transforming how subscribers see the service. Those subscribers have turned "binge watching" entire new seasons of a show into a mainstream practice. Five years ago, such a thing would have been unthinkable.

Former AMC series "The Killing" is the latest beneficiary of Netflix's burgeoning network offerings. First the streaming service ordered a whole new season of "Arrested Development." Then it became the exclusive home of the final season of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." Now, Netflix has given fans of "The Killing" the chance to watch their favorite show end the way it was meant to, instead of mid-stride. AMC canceled the show after three seasons, leaving cast and crew in the lurch with an unfinished story, but Netflix came to the rescue, ordering one more exclusive season. It's only six episodes, but it's better than nothing. Netflix will continue to host all three previous seasons of "The Killing" on demand.

As for what's on the way out of Netflix's semi-revolving door, viewers may be dismayed to see the exit of several beloved classics like "Airplane," "Brave Heart," "Easy Rider," "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life," "Donnie Brasco" and "The Pianist."
