Google seems keen in making Google Now On Tap as smart as a whip.

The Mountain Vew-based company announced that it is packing new features into its Now On Tap as it wishes to "make your holidays a little easier."

"Between gift shopping, traveling, and party-going and party-hosting, there's a lot to do this time of year," says Aneto Okonkwo, Now On Top's Product Manager, in a blog post shared on Dec. 15. "With Now on Tap on Android phones, everything is a little bit easier."

Added Features

Specifically, Google is bringing in four new features with the latest update.

Let's do the rundown.

Fast Access To Flight Information - It is now possible to check out a flight status by simply tapping and holding the smartphone's home button without the need to carry out a separate search, if, for instance, someone sent out a text message with a flight number in it. Of course, it is still easy to respond to someone's text message as it is still right there.

Fast Access To Tracking Information For Your Package - Users who ordered a particular item online can now effortlessly track their packages. This can be done simply by tapping the confirmation email. Now on Tap will then give you information about where your package is at the moment and what time it is expected to arrive.

Easily Find Related Stories - Google is now making it easier than ever to read news stories. With this new feature, users can locate related news stories by simply tapping and holding the phone's home button. A window will pop up showing off Google News search results of the news articles users are reading. It is now easier to share articles, too, since Google included a share icon they can use without leaving what they are doing.

Support For More Languages - This is certainly big news to those who speak Italian, Spanish, German, French, Russian and Korean. They can now use Now On Tap, too, using their own languages.

Google also promises that it will continue to bring in more features and languages down the road.

Users of Google Now On Tap will soon be able use these newly added features in the next few days.
