A slew of new images of Rockstar Games' mysterious 1970s spy game Agent have surfaced over the Web, providing a glimpse at what the heavily postponed game should have offered to gamers quite a long time ago.

The gallery of leaked images purportedly come from a Rockstar artist's portfolio who was part of the team working on the game in 2009 and 2010. The artist was working on the game before he and his team jumped into developing Grand Theft Auto V. He also speculates that the reason Agent keeps getting postponed is "GTA V's titanic development."

These images, initially released on Reddit, seem to be "dated and have last-gen visuals," but it should be no surprise since these are already six years old. Nevertheless, these images are still interesting to look at and gives us a quick look at what Rockstar Games was working on years back.

Unfortunately, the artist says he has no idea if Agent will be released in the future.

Based on the leaked images, it looks like this game is partly set within a mountainside city. Also included in the gallery are a few map models from the game.

You can check out all these images allegedly from Agent via Imgur.

It's Not The First Time

This is not the first time a former staff of the team that developed Agent shared images from the long-in-development game.

In 2011, another former artist also shared a few screenshots of his work on the spy game.

PlayStation 3-Exclusive

When it was first introduced, the game was deemed to land as a PlayStation 3-exclusive.

Agent was initially revealed in 2007. It was then later detailed during the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo.

The Next Grand Theft Auto

Back in 2009, Take-Two president Ben Feder told GameSpot that the game was set to be Rockstar's next GTA.

"It's the A team working on an AAA title," he said. "I think the subject matter, the characters, the story, the environment, the background – all the elements are there."

He added that it is indeed a rich setting to play in.

Also in August 2012, the Take-Two CEO was asked about the status of the game. He said the company was not planning to announce anything about it yet.
