Stephen Hawking changed the world with his theories on the laws of the universe. Now the life of the most famous living scientist is getting the Hollywood treatment with a new film.

The trailer for the Hawking biopic "The Theory of Everything" was released, and if it is not the most inspirational thing you've seen all day, your heart is probably as dark as those black holes Hawking famously studied. The film follows Hawking's life from a young physics student at Cambridge to penning the groundbreaking book A Brief History of Time.

In the trailer, we see Hawking (played by Eddie Redmayne) fall in love with his future wife Jane Hawking (played by Felicity Jones), who penned the memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life With Stephen on which the movie is based. Of course, much of the film focuses on Hawking's battle with ALS, a form of motor neurone disease. The disease caused him to be in a wheelchair and later speak with the assistance of a computer for the rest of his life. When doctors diagnosed Hawking with ALS at age 21, they only expected him to live for another two years.

But, as we all know, that was not how this story ended. Hawking would go on to have a 26-year marriage with Jane (the couple divorced in 1991) and become one of the most influential scientific minds of our time.

With stellar, emotionally-charged performances in films such as "My Week With Marilyn" and "Les Miserables," in addition to his striking resemblance to a young Hawking, Redmayne seems to be the obvious choice to portray the legendary cosmologist. Jones, who's notable for her turns in "Like Crazy" and "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," also gives a very romantic performance in this trailer. James Marsh, who directed the exceptional Academy Award-winning documentary "Man on Wire," is at the helm of this movie, which is sure to be a strong contender when awards season comes around.

In case you're wondering what the real Hawking has to say about this movie, he seems to be pretty stoked for it, giving it his blessing and visiting the set. His actual electronic voice even makes it into the film.

"The Theory of Everything" will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September before it hits theaters Nov. 7. Until then, we will probably have this trailer on repeat.
