Some Android users might be unaware that Google's OS has a Smart Lock feature which recently became available for the Netflix Android TV app.

Smart Lock lets users keep their gadgets in an unlocked/locked state depending on location or if the gadget detects an authorized device in the vicinity. For instance, if your Chromebook has the Smart Lock functionality activated and you get near it with your Android handset, the Chromebook detects the fellow device and unlocks itself. This way, entering your log-in credentials will no longer be necessary. When you leave the room, the computer locks itself back.

Having to input one's ID and password can be tedious. Enter Smart Lock for Passwords, which lets users save the combos of app usernames-passwords, speeding up the sign in process.

The Netflix Android app was one of the applications that directly benefit from the improvement. So what does the addition of the Smart Lock bring to the Netflix Android TV app?

Simply put, the Smart Lock-Android TV app implementation means that you may sign in to your Netflix account by simply having an Android tablet or smartphone nearby.

All you have to do is go to the Smart Lock section of the mobile device and save the Netflix account ID and password on it. Afterwards, go to your Android TV's Netflix account and log out. Exit the Netflix Android app, then re-enter it.

Now, the Smart Lock features should automatically sign you in, leaving behind the process of manually inputting the ID and password. Owners of Android TVs should know that for the sync between the two devices to work, they should have the latest variant of the Netflix Android app. As the update reaches various regions of the world at a different pace, some waiting time could be necessary.

Meanwhile, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings went onstage at CES 2016 to let everyone know that the streaming video service is arriving in India. No less than 129 more markets were announced, including countries from Europe and the Middle East.

In case you were wondering, the big absence from the list is China, due to prevalent censorship. It works both ways: first, the Chinese government strictly filters what content reaches its citizens via Internet. Second, the American establishment restricts the expansion of national companies into certain overseas markets, such as China.

Following the recent expansion, Netflix has 190 countries where it offers video streaming, movies and on-demand TV.

Alongside its blooming collection of 35,000 movies and TV shows, Netflix seeks to capitalize on the original content that it delivers.

Some very popular TV series that come from Netflix include "Jessica Jones," "House of Cards" and "Orange is the New Black." These originals have been well-received by consumers and critics alike, garnering nominations in nine different categories at the 2016 Golden Globes.
