Korg, which is known around the world for its synths and MIDI controllers, has announced the Minilogue, a programmable four-voice polyphonic synthesizer.

The synth also offers a 16-step sequencer, delay and an arpeggiator, helping make it an extremely versatile new device. Of course, all these features aren't really groundbreaking — what's groundbreaking is the price at which the product is being sold, a mere $499.99.

"Minilogue also brings a new level of affordability to the world of programmable polyphonic analog synthesizers. At $499.99 US[D] it is priced like a digital synth but offers superb true-analog sound with convenience of programmability, a striking design, and a very high-quality build," said James Sajeva, Korg Brand Manager, in an emailed statement.

A number of similarly-priced synths have been available on the market for some time now, including those offered by Korg itself. Despite this, few have been as fully-featured as the Minilogue.

Of course, in addition to its internal features, the synth also looks great. It features a classy aluminum panel on the top, along with a wood panel back, which seriously enhances the look of the device.

The Korg Minilogue will be available sometime this month, and, as mentioned, will cost $499.99.
