With two months left to go before the series returns to television, AMC has revealed the first teasers for the second season of Fear the Walking Dead. Strangely enough, the International versions of the teasers are the only ones to have made their way online so far — for whatever reason, no official U.S. versions have been released just yet.

Considering how far off the season two premiere is, it makes sense that AMC is only really hinting at what fans can expect to see. For instance, the network has already confirmed that much of the show's second season will take place on the high seas, as the survivors flee Los Angeles for the relative safety of a massive yacht. On top of all that, there's the rather obvious connection to the webseries Flight 462 — if that plane-shaped shadow didn't immediately tip you off, chances are you haven't seen the tie-in.

While fans may have an idea of what may happen, the teasers themselves don't reveal much: save for the Flight 462 reference, the two short teasers are about as vague as you can get:

It's clear that AMC was going more for atmosphere than anything else — and in all honesty, they succeeded. Sure, the first teaser isn't much more than shuffled footprints in the sand, but it does a good job of telling viewers what they're in for.

Thankfully, the second teaser is a bit more substantial:

Again, it's still incredibly vague ... but at the very least, it shows how our heroes are holding up. Otherwise, it's mostly just a series of reaction shots — though that final glimpse of the doomed Flight 462 is a nice touch.

While it's still far too early to tell if Fear the Walking Dead's second season will live up to the first, it's safe to say that the show is a far cry from the carbon-copy most people thought it would be. Sure, the two shows hit some of the same notes — they are zombie stories, after all — but AMC has done a good job of differentiating its two post-apocalyptic stories.

Also, it won't be all that much longer before fans can dive back in: Fear the Walking Dead's second season is set to air on April 10.
