What do you get when you combine two of 2015's biggest RPGs? This awesome Fallout 4 mod that adds the weapons and gear of Witcher 3's Geralt of Rivia to the wasteland of the Commonwealth.

The mod come from NexusMods creator -Ren-, and the gear is certainly impressive. Geralt's hand-crossbow, witcher medallion, armor and even a wolf mask all come included in the mod and look nearly identical to their appearance in CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

As it turns out, there is a reason for that. -Ren- emailed CD Projekt Red asking for permission to use the specific textures and assets from Witcher 3 for the Fallout 4 mod, and lo and behold, CD Projekt Red actually responded to give it the okay.

The result isn't merely a recreation of Geralt's items in Fallout 4, but the actual items themselves. Fallout has no shortage of monsters, so perhaps introducing a witcher to the Commonwealth isn't a bad deal at all.

Bonus points to CD Projekt Red for being cool with the idea. As the company has shown time and time again, it has proven itself to be one of the most well-respected developers in the business. You can read the full email below.

Now that you know the story behind the mod, it's time to see it in action. This video from hodilton will give you the perfect idea of what to expect. It's a little strange seeing a Geralt lookalike wearing a Pip-boy, but that just comes with the territory. Once the mod is installed, players will actually craft the various items using the in-game chemistry station.

This is just the latest Fallout 4 mod that has caught our attention. You can learn more about some of the best Fallout 4 mods we've seen so far here.
