The 2016 Mobile World Congress has kicked off in Barcelona and companies such as LG, Samsung and more have already revealed their latest products. Sony has also launched a new Xperia X Series smartphones and other devices.

The new handset line includes three mobile devices: Xperia X, Xperia XA and Xperia X Performance.

Sony has not yet revealed full specs of the three smartphones. However, as expected, the Xperia X and Xperia XA will be in the midrange, while the Xperia X Performance will be a high-end device.

With its new midrange devices, Sony hopes to attract customers through packing them with noteworthy specs, particularly the camera and design. Although Sony knows outstanding features will be enjoyed more if paired with a battery that can keep up.

"Xperia X series incorporates Sony's smart battery management to deliver up to two days battery life. Not only will it keep your phone running for longer from one charge, Xperia X series benefits from a battery lifespan that's up to twice as long with Qnovo's Adaptive Charging technology and Sony's smart battery management system," says Sony.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor will power the Xperia X Performance. While other Xperia X devices will be powered by a Snapdragon 650 processor. The mobile phones will be available in Rose Gold, Lime Gold, White and Graphite Black.

Sony has also launched the Xperia Ear - a wireless ear piece that will expand communication experience for users. The device provides users with vital information like schedule, latest news and weather.

Powered by the company's voice technology, Xperia Ear replies to verbal commands, be it when it comes to navigation, message dictation, Internet search, and more.

Owners can connect the earpiece to their Android smartphones via Bluetooth or NFC. Once paired successfully, users can also customize settings.

The Xperia Ear is very lightweight and the soft silicone earbud makes it comfortable to wear even for a few hours. It has IPX2 water-protection, and with a battery that can last for an entire day on a full charge.

The earpiece comes in Graphite Black and has an innovative case, which doubles up as a charger.

Sony has not confirmed neither price nor exact release dates, but the company says that the new smartphone series and the Xperia Ear will be available in "Summer 2016."
