Over the years, the appearances of Goku and Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z haven't changed all that much.

Same spiky hair. Same bulging biceps. Same outfits (most of the time). Their looks are iconic, and as the saying goes, you don't fix what isn't broken.

However, after seeing what Goku and Vegeta look like with full-grown beards in the latest episode of Dragon Ball Super, some fans might change their minds.

In the episode, the two characters emerge from three days of training within the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Anybody who has watched Dragon Ball over the years knows that time within the Hyperbolic Time Chamber acts much differently than in the rest of the world, so in actuality, it is as if Goku and Vegeta have been training for three years — hence why both men have full beards.

When they exit the chamber, they haven't exactly had a chance to shave their facial hair, and instead, are bearded and more than a little smelly. That's not to say the beards aren't a good look for them, however. If it can work for Ryu in Street Fighter, it can work for Vegeta and Goku.

Unfortunately, the two heroes promptly clean themselves up shortly after exiting the chamber and go back to their usual clean-shaven appearances. Will the beards rise again? Maybe one day, but for now, fans should probably just expect that the classic appearances of Goku and Vegeta won't be changing drastically anytime soon. You can check out some images from the episode below.

This is just the latest development in Dragon Ball Super. Previously, the name of Goku's newfound form of Super Saiyan was changed in the series, and we also got a small glimpse at what a super-powered Hercule might have looked like.
