Vivo is expected to launch the rumored Xplay 5 smartphone with 6 GB of RAM.

Samsung and LG have launched their flagship mobile devices at the 2016 Mobile World Congress. The high-end smartphone have top-end features that customers look out for in flagship handset. The LG G5 and the U.S. version of the Galaxy S7 run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. However, an Exynos 8 chipset will power the international variant of the Galaxy S7.

According to AnTuTu benchmark test, the LG G5 achieved the highest score of 133,054 followed by the Galaxy S7 with a score of 116,668. However, the results are overshadowed by the score of the upcoming Xplay 5.

The Vivo offering was spotted on AnTuTu benchmark twice: once running on 4 GB of RAM and then on 6 GB of RAM. However, a leaked result on Weibo suggests that the upcoming smartphone achieved 162,610 points. The leaked result does not specify the RAM of the device, but such high score can be achieved only by 6 GB of RAM.

A new video has also emerged on Weibo that shows the speed test of the speculated Xplay 5 with the iPhone 6s and another Vivo phone. The Vivo Xplay 5 is placed between the other two handsets. The video shows that the Xplay 5 opened the app quickest compared to the other two devices. A combination of Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 6 GB of RAM is said to be the reason for the speed.

Rumors of the Xplay 5 suggest that the smartphone will sport a 5.5-inch display with 2K resolution. The device is expected to include 64 GB of internal storage and probably with the option to increase the memory capacity with a microSD card.

The handset is also speculated to be equipped with a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The Vivo phone may also have a curved screen similar to the one found on Galaxy S7 edge.

Being a flagship device, the Galaxy S7 edge is highly likely to come running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

Currently, none of the smartphones have 6 GB of RAM, which means that the Xplay 5 will be the first handset to have this capacity.

Vivo is expected to launch the Xplay 5 at an event on March 1. The new phone from the Chinese OEM is packed with top-notch features and many people would want to lay their hands on the smartphone. However, it is likely that the Xplay 5 will be limited to China only.
