Google has enhanced "quick action buttons" for Gmail, which lets users breeze through their inbox.

Users can perform tasks directly from the inbox without accessing any message. The new options also include the capability of opening a Google Drive document or a shared Dropbox folder directly.

Google introduced the quick action buttons for Gmail earlier in May this year. They are designed to help users perform tasks seamlessly and swiftly without opening the message. Google has now expanded this feature by adding more buttons.

"Gmail's quick action buttons help you stay on top of your busy schedule by surfacing important information as "buttons" that appear in your inbox, and now, you'll see even more buttons to get you through this action-packed season," wrote Google's Claudio Cherubino, Developer Programs Engineer, in a blog post on Monday, November 11.

Google has introduced another button which will enable users to automatically open and view YouTube or Vimeo videos via the conformation messages that pop up once an upload is complete.

"If you're an avid uploader of YouTube and Vimeo videos, you can view finished uploads with a single click with the new 'View video' button," notes Cherubino. "Similarly, you can also speedily open a Dropbox folder or Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides that have been shared with you."

There are some buttons like rating and reviewing restaurants you placed an order from on Seamless. You can also alter dinner reservations on OpenTable directly from the inbox.

"We're continuing to add even more buttons to make it easier for you to get things done in Gmail," says Cherubino.

Developers who have novel ideas for new buttons can check out the Google developer website here for more details.
