Microsoft has recently announced that Samsung Galaxy TabPro S finally hits the United States market. This high-end 12-inch 2-in-1 will be up for sale via Best Buy, Microsoft Stores and Samsung.com.

Starting March 18, the iPad Pro and Surface look-alike will be sold on Best Buy for $899.99. On April 4, this will be available in Microsoft stores and Microsoftstore.com in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. It will likewise be sold on Samsung's website at some point.

Back in January at the CES 2016, the Galaxy TabPro S, which is a result of several years of collaboration between Samsung, Microsoft and Intel, was unwrapped.

"[T]he Galaxy TabPro S – a beautiful, ultra thin, detachable 2-in-1 that is optimized for entertainment and offers productivity without compromise – the perfect device for both consumers and the enterprise," says Chris Cocks, Microsoft's vice president for OEM Technical Sales.

Cocks says that among the largest investments in this new tablet is the work Microsoft has done together with Samsung in optimizing the Cortana experience.

"Together with Samsung, we improved the Cortana speech accuracy from good to exceptional, with scores greater than 90 percent across all sound environments," he says.

Earlier this month, the device first landed on select European markets.

Specs

While this Windows 10 device is a humongous tablet, the Galaxy TabPro S is "ridiculously lightweight" featuring 1.53 pounds and 0.25-inch thickness.

The 2-in-1 tablet sports a super AMOLED display, which is deemed as "the best screen" on the market so far. It also has a resolution of 2,160 x 1,400.

This device packs a 2.2 GHz Core M3 processor, 4 GB of RAM plus up to 256 GB SSD of storage.

For the users of the tablet to take advantage of the Tab Pro S' touch screen as well as the Universal Windows Platform apps, such as the Bamboo Paper, a dedicated pen is poised to arrive soon.

This device is touted to have a 10.5-hour battery life.

At $900, the package already includes the device's keyboard case, making it somewhat an attractive deal.

In a hands-on review of The Next Web, it says the keyboard is good for travel, and its full-size keys are "with little wobble."

"It's not quite as good as the keyboard on the Surface Pro 4 ... but it feels much better than the shallow and bouncy keys on Apple's iPad Pro cover," it says.
