It's been a couple of rough years for HTC, which at one time dominated smartphone sales. The company has been publicly speaking and teasing its HTC 10 (One M10), putting strong focus on cameras, but it's now directing attention to its "boom" sound.

Now that Samsung has released the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, LG is on the verge of releasing its LG G5 on April 1 and Apple's new 4-inch iPhone SE will go on sale on March 31, more attention is being directed at HTC, which is actually playing an active role with almost daily teasers straight from the source. The company most recently announced that it would hold a press event on April 12 by tweeting, "We admit it. We're obsessed... but in a good way."

A few days before HTC announced its April 12 event, it once again headed to its Twitter page to tease the HTC 10 by posting images of its cameras and a message of "World First, World Class, Front and Back. You'll see. #powerof10." The company appears to feel very confident of the HTC 10's camera, since the company's CFO boasted, "We can confidently say that HTC will have a very, very compelling camera experience. We're making this comment after we've seen what's going on in the market," after watching Samsung announce the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge and LG launch the LG G5 at Mobile World Congress.

HTC has once again taken to its official Twitter page to tease the upcoming HTC 10, and this time the focus is on sound. The company posted the following message: "Here comes the new boom. You'll hear it. #powerof10 https://www.htc.com/powerof10."

HTC first introduced its much-loved BoomSound dual-stereo speakers when it launched the HTC One M7 in 2013. The speakers have been a centerpiece on each of its successors but leaked press renders and live photos of the HTC 10 don't show any evidence of the company's highly praised BoomSound speakers.

It appears that HTC may have come up with some kind of new "BoomSound" tech as the image posted to Twitter seems to imply the lower pill shaped speakers will replace the speaker grill we're all familiar with on the One M9, One M8, and One M7.

With HTC's strong penchant for hyping up its soon to be announced HTC 10, this won't likely be the last time we hear from the company with some new details. Once they do, we'll report them right back to you.
