Street Fighter V received its fair share of criticism at launch for lacking modes and the ability to spend in-game currency earned through playing, but Capcom will finally be addressing some of those concerns in two updates coming next week.

As detailed in a Capcom blog post on the subject, the first update will arrive on March 28 and will add the long-awaited challenge mode to the game. This mode allows players to learn the ropes of Street Fighter V by including beginner, intermediate and advanced tutorials for players to tackle, as well as character tutorials for each of the game's playable 16 fighters. The March 28 update will also add the ability to call for a rematch in online ranked and casual matches.

On March 30, players will finally be able to spend their hard-earned Fight Money when Capcom releases Street Fighter V's in-game store and first DLC character. Players will then be able to download new character Alex from the in-game store for 100,000 FM. In addition, players can also unlock the story costumes for each of the game's various fighters for 40,000 FM each.

While the game will eventually support the ability to buy costumes and characters by exchanging real-world money for in-game Zenny, Capcom says that feature won't be available in the March update.

"We have taken a long, hard look at this part of the store, and after much review, have decided it is not ready to launch just yet," Capcom writes. "As Zenny is purchased with real money, we wanted to be extra careful and make sure it's fully tested and optimized before launching it. There is currently no ETA on the Zenny store and we will release it as soon as it's ready."

The plus side is that Capcom will be allowing players to try out Alex for free until the Zenny store launches. This will also apply to any other new characters added to the game prior to the launch of the Zenny store. Once the Zenny store launches, players will then have to purchase the new characters with FM, Zenny or by purchasing the game's season pass.

As an additional "thank you" to fans, Capcom is unlocking the story costumes for Ryu and Chun-Li for all players on March 30.
