You've got to love local news.

When Acworth, Ga. local CBS 46 News reported about a highway shooting last week, its reporter, Dante Renzulli, had no clue that the eyewitness he was interviewing about the attempted murder was none other than pro-wrestling superstar Scott Steiner.

Introduced as "a man who owns a restaurant near the Hardee's in Acworth," Steiner proceeded to give Renzulli the play by play about what he witnessed, before adding that "everybody was just scattering and that the incident was a "once in a lifetime kind of thing" and that "it's pretty mellow around here."

Although CBS 46 identified the former WWE superstar as Scott Steiner, there's never any mention made about him being a pro-wrestling veteran. Hey, Renzulli and those working at CBS 46 in Acworth must not be wrestling fans. Either that or they just thought mentioning his career would throw off the attempted murder report in some way.

In retrospect, they should have mentioned his career, because all the feedback from this report swirls around Steiner and not the story itself. So, by not acknowledging Steiner's pro-wrestling career, it took away from the story regardless.

However, even though the news station didn't acknowledge his pro-wrestling career, Steiner did spark plenty of curiosity among wrestling fans wondering about the name of the restaurant that he owns in the area.

Under the news report footage posted on the Internet, one YouTube user commented: "What restaurant does Scott own and where?"

Another user further delved into Steiner being a witness, writing a faux conversation with the wrestler and police at the scene.

"Police: Mr Steiner, would you be able to testify in court?" the user commented, adding, "Scott Steiner: Big Poppa Pump is your hookup. Holla if you hear me," in reference to a line he always used to use on the microphone in wrestling.

One thing is for sure — Renzulli and local CBS 46 in Acworth, Ga. definitely knows who Scott Steiner is now. The Internet and legions of pro-wrestling fans everywhere couldn't help but point it out to them.

Perhaps business at Steiner's restaurant will receive new customers in the form of rabid wrestling fans, too.
