In an effort to give the wearable technology industry a boost, London-based Topshop has launched Top Pitch, a program designed to help developers market their products to fashion-forward buyers.

"We're inviting entrepreneurs and start-ups from around the world to apply for a 'bootcamp' program created by Topshop and investment partner L Marks, with intensive coaching on how to bring your product to market and the chance to pitch to Topshop and Sir Philip Green," the company states on the Top Pitch site.

Today, wearable technology goes beyond the fitness trackers and noise-cancelling Bluetooth earbuds seen on Kickstarter. Entrepreneurs are finding new ways to embed advanced technology in everything from jackets to shoes. Now, Topshop wants to help entrepreneurs bring their devices to fashionable audiences.

"Top Pitch is aimed at wearable technology companies who want to learn how they can bring their products successfully to market," states Top Pitch on its website. "The Top Pitch program does not provide funding for the participating teams, however there is the opportunity to explore further investment throughout the program."

What Top Pitch does provide to participants is critical mentoring and business education. The goal is to prepare entrepreneurs to pitch their products to buyers and senior leaders at Topshop. Additionally, products at any stage of the development process are eligible for the program.

It's free to apply for the Top Pitch program, and Topshop does not take any equity from entrepreneurs who participate. Applications are currently being accepted through May 22, and individuals must be at least 18 years of age. Despite being located in the UK, Topshop is opening Top Pitch to entrepreneurs from around the globe. However, individuals must be able to attend activities that are a part of the program.

The "bootcamp" itself will run for four weeks beginning on June 13. All activities will be held at an office space in Central London. Wearable tech influencers and Topshop executives will be on hand to provide the guidance participants are looking for throughout the entire program.

"Top Pitch challenges wearable tech entrepreneurs to present a product that is stylish, functional and in-demand with the Topshop customer, at a price that's accessible," the Top Pitch website concludes.
