The LG G5 has courted controversy for not boasting an app drawer; however, the South Korean company has now made amends and has made it possible for the flagship smartphone's users to activate the popular feature.

Some LG G5 users who can't do without the app drawer, downloaded the Home app via the SmartWorld app store. However, they had to contend with the UX 4.0 design language used in its predecessor LG G4 and not the UX 5.0 for the latest iteration.

Now, because LG is pushing out an update for the current-gen model as well, users will be able to get the UX 5.0 compatible app drawer.

For the unfamiliar, an app drawer is basically an assemblage of widgets and apps all in one place. It is often called an App Tray as well. One can access the app drawer by pressing the launch button.

LG opted to discard the app drawer for the LG G5 in a bid to adopt the everything-can-be-spotted-on-the-homescreen philosophy used by iOS. However, the decision met with criticism from Android fans.
