Nintendo announced on April 29 that Pokémon Rumble World, one of the latest Nintendo games in the Pokémon franchise, is now available for purchase in-store for the 3DS.

Last year, Pokémon Rumble World was launched for the Nintendo 3DS via the Nintendo eShop. At $29.99, the game is now available at physical retail stores.

"We love giving our fans as many purchase options as possible," said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of sales and marketing. "Players that love collecting physical games and all things Pokémon will now be able to add Pokémon Rumble World to their Nintendo 3DS collection."

The game features more than 700 Pokémon. Its gameplay consists of allowing individuals to control a Toy Pokémon, which can battle and befriend others along the way. Branching off of Nintendo's move to create a stronger wireless community, StreetPass, SpotPass and "Call Someone Online" can be used within the game (via Wi-Fi). These features allow individuals to link up within the game with their friends.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Pokémon, the role-playing video game situated around the idea of catching "pocket monsters" and battling them in a fictional universe. To mark the 20th anniversary, Nintendo and the Pokémon Company announced new additions to the legendary line of Pokémon games in February 2016. Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, as they've been titled, will launch during the holiday season.

"The Pokémon core series games are the center of the Pokémon universe and provide some of the most memorable Pokémon moments for our fans," said J.C. Smith, senior director of Consumer Marketing at the Pokémon Company International. "I can't wait to see what fans think of the new adventures they'll find in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon."

Similar to Pokémon Rumble World, Pokémon Sun and Moon will utilize the Internet to provide users with more game features. The Pokémon Bank, for instance, will act as an online storage application.

Both Pokémon Sun and Moon were presented at the Pokémon Direct conference, held at the beginning of March 2016. Since the release of the first Pokémon games by Game Freak, Inc., the Pokémon Company has sold more than 275 million video games.
