OnePlus 3 fans are edging as the release of the flagship is near and essential tidbits of info keep hitting the media.

Pete Lau, the leader of the manufacturing company, recently unveiled details about the handset's camera. Now, an insider familiar with the development of OnePlus 3 leaked important information about how much the anticipated smartphone will cost.

The source talked to GizmoChina and mentioned that customers will be able to get the OnePlus 3 for 1,999 Yuan ($310). It should be noted that this price fits the default variant of the smartphone. As a reminder, the OnePlus 2 launched at a higher price of $329 and was dubbed "flagship killer."

The insider also said the OnePlus 3 will land in two models. The first relies on a Snapdragon 820 CPU for processing power, paired with 4 GB of RAM. Storage space for the standard model will be of 32 GB.

The premium model features an identical Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, but processing power will get a boost thanks to the beastly 6 GB of RAM that the handset holds under its belt. For the more expensive device, storage space will be doubled to 64 GB. There is no information about the price difference, but we will make sure to keep you posted as soon as we find out.

When looking at the purported visuals, the phone will boast a 5.5-inch Full HD screen capable of rendering 1,080 x 1,920p resolution. An Adreno 530 GPU will be in charge of graphics quality.

If there was any doubt, the latest handset will come with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow pre-installed.

The source also revealed Geekbench results for the device. During single-core testing, the OnePlus amassed 2,266 points, which is promising. The multi-core test falls rather in the average range, with the smartphone reaching 5,012 points.

Previous rumors hinted that OnePlus 3 could get an official announcement on May 18, followed up by a public release at the beginning of June.

Just as a reminder, there is another flagship that sports the potent Snapdragon 820 and fits in the same price range. We're referring to the Xiaomi Mi5, and we're looking forward to see how the OnePlus 3 will fare against its rival.
