When it comes to Nintendo's press conference slot at E3 this year, it's all about one thing: The Legend of Zelda.

Nintendo decided to forego the usual presentation and plans on using that time to live-stream the new The Legend of Zelda game. That means that Nintendo fans attending the conference and those watching at home won't get to see any other game trailers or demonstrations, because Nintendo plans on focusing exclusively on that one title.

Nintendo already announced that The Legend of Zelda is also the only playable game the company will have available at E3. It may seem that the company plans on putting all its eggs in one basket, but considering how highly anticipated a new Zelda title is, this is probably exactly what fans want.

"Nintendo's kickoff to the E3 show happens at 9 a.m. PT Tuesday, June 14, when Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime introduces Nintendo Treehouse: Live, which will be dedicated to a day of live-streamed gameplay of The Legend of Zelda," Nintendo wrote in a press release. "This will be the world's first in-depth look at the game, which will also include commentaries by Nintendo developers. The Legend of Zelda gameplay will be streamed from the E3 show floor via Nintendo's channels on YouTube and Twitch, as well as on https://e3.nintendo.com. The stream will include game coverage, behind-the-scenes info and plenty of fun."

Nintendo is banking on The Legend of Zelda to do well, but hasn't yet released many details about the game. The company does promise that the demo at E3 will offer something new and "treat people to an immersive Zelda experience." Nintendo also hinted that the new title in the franchise will offer a more open world experience than previous games: one that doesn't force players to follow a certain path.

Meanwhile, there are rumors about the new title offering players a choice to play as a female or male version of the main character Link. Other rumors state that the game will feature voice acting for all characters, which would also be a first for the franchise.

Although The Legend of Zelda does not yet have an official release date, Nintendo expects to release the title in 2017.
