Since the next installments in the massively popular Pokémon franchise Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon were officially announced in February, details regarding the upcoming titles have been scarce.

It was said that the games will be released worldwide in the year's holiday season, with the titles hinting of possible Light Pokémon coming to the franchise to join the Dark type. This, however, has not yet been confirmed, along with many other rumors and speculations regarding the upcoming games.

For fans of the franchise who have been looking forward to know more about Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, the wait will soon end.

According to a blog post written by Pokémon director Junichi Masuda, more information regarding the upcoming Pokémon games will be revealed on May 10 at about 9:00 p.m. Japanese Standard Time, which is 5:00 a.m. Pacific and 8:00 a.m. Eastern of the same date.

It should be noted that May 10 is also the launch date of what could be the biggest exclusive title coming to the PlayStation 4, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.

The decision on the date for when Nintendo would release information about Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon could be a deliberate move to draw away gamers from Nathan Drake, but it is also possible that Nintendo did not have the Uncharted 4: A Thief's End release in mind. Nintendo is known to often work inside a bubble, rarely taking a look at its competition.

At the upcoming E3 on June 14 to June 16, Nintendo has dedicated its slot to the new The Legend of Zelda title, so Nintendo does not need to wait until the annual event to release any news and announcements for Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will launch with nine languages, and will be compatible with the Pokémon bank to be able to transfer Pokémon obtained through the first games of the franchise into the new titles.
