AMD recently released the Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.5.1 Beta drivers, which should boost the performance of a number of graphics cards.

The company touts that Radeon Software Crimson Edition is a graphics software that offers outstanding graphics performance, unique features and revamped functionality. AMD works hard to achieve stability improvements and improved performance with each Radeon Software release.

Gamers will be happy to hear that the new drivers address Forza Motorsport 6: Apex optimizations.

AMD exemplifies the increase in performance for gaming in general and states that PC gamers will enjoy a spike of 27 percent over the previous version of drivers running on an R9 Fury X.

However, with great visual processing power comes great responsibility ... and some bugs. Luckily, there are workarounds available until they get patched. Here is a list of known issues:

Some games could have issues and even fail to launch when the AMD Gaming Evolved overlay is turned on. What you can do to circumvent the problem is turn off the AMD Gaming Evolved "In Game Overlay."

AMD points out that a number of configurations might not feature HDMI Scaling, or the feature might get ignored by some apps.

If you go to Radeon Settings/ Gaming, Global Options, the option to turn the AMD Crossfire technology on or off should be there. However, some systems will lack the option.

Using AMD Crossfire could cause some games, such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt inventory and character pages to flicker.

There is a possibility that the Radeon Settings game manager will lack the icons of Origin Games.

AMD announced which products from the Mobility Product Family are supported by the latest drivers. The list shows a wide array, from the Radeon R9 M300 Series to the HD 7700M - HD 7900M Series. When looking at the Desktop Product Family, AMD's Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.5.1 gives support to many configurations, from the Radeon Pro Duo to the HD 8500 - HD 8900 Series.

You may download the beta drivers from AMD's official website. The drivers work for Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Windows 7, both in 32-bit and 64-bit variants.

The previous version of the drivers rolled out in December last year and brought improvements of their own.
