A legendary dweller who goes by the name of Old Longfellow just turned up on Fallout Shelter, giving an early peek of one of the characters in the Fallout 4 DLC Far Harbor.

The developers announced the news via Twitter, but word about the free new character spread more quickly thanks to Reddit, where users are posting about receiving five Lunchboxes and a notification that Old Longfellow wants to join their vaults when they logged in.

How To Get Old Longfellow

As of right now, nothing has been confirmed yet, but it looks like the overseers have figured out how to unlock Old Longfellow.

It's simple, really. All you need is to have 20 or more dwellers inside your vault, and you should see the pop-up message by then. However, it seems that he's currently only available to Android users, and Bethesda has yet to say whether or not he'll arrive to the iOS.

More About The Character

In a word, he's a legendary dweller. To go into the nitty-gritty details, he sports a tattered long coat that provides two points to Strength, Endurance, Charisma and Luck. Aside from the new outfit, he's also carrying a Henrietta rifle with 13 to 16 damage, making for one heck of a weapon to defend the vault or carry out successful scavenging missions in the Wasteland.

As a little interesting tidbit, Old Longfellow looks like he's based on the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow who hails from Maine, the place where Far Harbor is set. It doesn't end there either, as one of Longfellow's poems "Paul Revere's Ride" makes references to Old North Church, which is also a location in the Commonwealth in Fallout 4.

The Bottom Line

Repeating what the developers said, Old Longfellow is available for a limited time only, so it's best to go ahead and load up Fallout Shelter if you haven't yet.

Feel free to let us know in the comments section below if you've gotten ahold of the legendary dweller, whether you're on Android or iOS — fingers crossed on the latter.
