Rockstar Games is apparently working on a couple of new projects, one of the biggest takeaways from the financial report of parent company Take-Two Interactive.

For those who don't know, the folks over at Rockstar Games are behind some of the most popular titles in the gaming world, including Grand Theft Auto, Max Payne, Midnight Club and Red Dead.

On that note, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise why a lot of people are excited about this tidbit of news.

"Rockstar Games is of course hard at work on some exciting future projects that will be revealed soon," Take-Two Interactive says.

As of right now, everyone's guess is as good as anyone else's regarding what the developers have up their sleeves, particularly about what exactly they'll release. However, it's worth mentioning that a lot of fans are expecting a sequel of Red Dead Redemption, an open-world game set in the West that launched across the Xbox 360 and PS3 back in May 2010. That's probably because of the map that got leaked recently.

Now it should also be pointed out that "projects" are in the works, and that means it's safe a bet to assume that the GTA maker has more than one game in store.

But before anyone gets their hopes up for a rollout this year, it's believed that whatever the developers are planning will go official in 2017, as CFO Lanie Goldstein said that Take-Two Interactive is anticipating a 75 / 25 split in revenue between 2K Games and Rockstar Games, according to GameSpot.

To further support the 2017 release date, the publisher already posted a lineup of 2016 titles. These games poised for launch later this year include NBA 2K17 in September, Mafia III on Oct. 7, Sid Meier's Civilization VI on Oct. 21 and WWE 2K17 sometime in October.

At any rate, it's good to hear that Rockstar Games have something for gamers everywhere in the foreseeable future. Hopefully, everything will be cleared up at the Electronic Entertainment Expo that's going to be held in Los Angeles next month.
