Ultimate Ears (UE) announced the UE Roll 2 speakers, which the company claims is louder than its predecessor, the original UE Roll launched in 2015.

On May 24, the company revealed the new member of the Bluetooth speaker family. UE has not made any external design tweaks to the UE Roll 2 and the new-generation speaker still has a saucer shape with big volume buttons on the front.

However, the UE Roll 2 is about 15 percent louder than its predecessor. The original UE Roll had a wireless range of 65 feet; however, the UE Roll 2 has extended wireless range of 100 feet.

The UE Roll 2 is IPX7 certified, which means it is completely waterproof that makes it a suitable companion for outdoor trips. The bungee cord loop of the Bluetooth speaker allows users to hang it anywhere. Charlotte Johs, the general manager of UE, says the bungee cord loop makes the speaker convenient and portable.

"No other speaker comes with everything you need to hang it in the shower, float it in the pool or attach it to your bike," says Johs.

The latest UE Roll 2 also includes a UE Floatie, which can be used to float the speaker in swimming pools - a feature that will attract customers who like listening to loud and quality music in pools.

UE launched the new speaker in an array of vibrant colors including Habanero, Tropical Anime, Volcano, Atmosphere, Reef and Sugarplum to suit one's personal taste.

The UE Roll 2 has rechargeable lithium battery that provides up to nine hours of audio playback. Customers who already have the original UE Roll can still purchase the new UE Roll 2 and pair them together.

The UE Roll 2 is available in the U.S. via the company's own website or from retailers at a price tag of $99.99. Best Buy has already started selling the Bluetooth speakers. UE also announced that the speakers will be available in Europe within May.

Customers may find many Bluetooth speakers at a cheaper price point than the UE Roll 2. However, given the success of the original UE Roll, many customers may still opt for the latest speaker.
