A newly leaked render has emerged on the Web hinting that Samsung is working on a dedicated Gear virtual reality headset controller.

Rumor has it that the controller Samsung is currently cooking up a Bluetooth-enabled one that should perfectly work with the Gear VR headset.

Further claims say that when the device is not used, it can be attached into the front of the headset, making it a portable one.

As shown in the leaked render, this purported controller will rock an analog joystick. On the right part, one will see four action buttons (X, A, B and Y). This device will likewise feature two top-facing shoulder triggers, an LED that flashes blue light when turned on and glows red when the battery is already low. One can also find a Menu key in the center. Plus, the device has the logo of Oculus, since the VR headset, as everybody knows, is powered by Oculus.

The rumor does not go into detail as to how much it will be priced and when this will finally see the light of day. It is expected, however, that this will come out sooner rather than later.

When the controller already starts hitting store shelves, this will definitely be a good peripheral for Samsung’s VR headset.

A report from Droid Life believes that one thing the Gear VR experience is missing right now is the dedicated controller, not content.

“In reality, Gear VR needs a controller, one that allows users to better interact with ... Samsung and 3rd-party developer content,” reads the report.

The reason HTC Vive provides a more engaging experience as opposed to what the Gear VR is offering at the moment is that it boasts a controller.

Samsung previously launched a Smartphone Gamepad, which had more controls as compared to the rumored controller for the Gear VR. Unfortunately, this did not gain traction, which is why it was pulled from stores.

We have yet to hear an official word from the South Korea-based firm if the new rumor holds true.

It is advised that you take this story with skepticism as it is just hearsay after all.
