Torbjörn, the turret-building Defense hero in Overwatch, is about to get nerfed on the Xbox One and PS4, making the day of controller-wielding gamers here and there.

The news of this update comes from none other than the Overwatch Game Director Jeff Kaplan himself, confirming that it's expected to roll out sometime next month to consoles only, where the exact release dates depend on Microsoft and Sony.

"In an upcoming patch, we will reduce the damage done by Torbjörn's turret by 30 percent on Xbox One and PS4. PC will remain unchanged. ETA – Mid to late July depending on 1st party certification times," he says on a long Reddit thread.

How much will it affect all the Torbjörn users out there? Well, 30 percent reduced damage is a pretty significant drop, so it stands to considerably decrease the number of Eliminations that the turret can do, not to mention that Plays of the Game could become more interesting — it's safe to assume that a lot of players are sick of watching a replay of the builder hammering away at the end of a match.

Chiming in on what several other Overwatch gamers have been saying, the trouble with the turret is how it's super accurate, allowing it to be one heck of a killing machine when it's placed in the perfect spot.

Before anyone points this out, it's possible that skill and know-how are huge factors to the whole issue, but having only tried it on the PC, it's hard to imagine what Xbox One and PS4 players are going through. However, based on their sentiments, it's quite easy to get an idea of what's going on.

In fact, a couple of days ago, Reddit user Bzimbardi detailed — or rather, ranted — one of the many problems that console gamers are facing with Torbjörn.

"Nobody wants to play anymore because it is literally 4 – 6 [Torbjörns] on every defense. Hell, a lot of teams are taking him on offense now (which is admittedly less effective, but still, damn!) ... [Torbjörn] is literally breaking the console versions of Overwatch and nobody seems to care," he says.

Needless to say, he's probably one of the folks who's over the moon regarding the reduced turret damage.
