Exciting news regarding Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon is coming this July 1, and the franchise's fans are going wild.

The Pokémon Company has confirmed, via Twitter, that important information about its two upcoming releases will be revealed on the first day of July at 6 a.m. PDT (10 p.m. in the company's home country of Japan and 2 p.m. in the United Kingdom).

The release, dubbed Nintendo's biggest game release of the year, will feature a new landscape for the Pokémon franchise, as it will be set in the Alola region, inspired by the Hawaiian and Polynesian cultures.

Three new Pokémon will also make their debut in the release. Yungoos is a mongoose; Grubbin is a larva, while Pikipek is a woodpecker.

In the Japan-based company's official website, the Pokémon Company has also revealed how the three starter monsters will look, complete with each of their descriptions. Rowlet, an owl, can attack silently; while the feline Litten can attack with hairballs made of fire. Popplio, meanwhile, is a seal known for its incredible swimming speed.

Battle Royal

Nintendo previously announced during the E3 2016 that it is incorporating Battle Royal into the upcoming game versions. What makes Battle Royal different from other releases is that it comes with four players, all of whom have the choice of picking three Pokémon characters. The winner in the battle will be the one who has eliminated the most monsters from the player's rivals. Another consideration for the winner is how many monsters the player has left.

In other news, Pokémon GO is on its way to stores and will be available for smartphones (iOS and Android) by July. Beta and field testers from the United States, Australia and Japan have said that gym locations will focus on actual places of interest around the globe, with players having the ability to customize their trainers at the start of the game.

Details about the three game releases are also expected to be announced on Aug. 19 through 21 in San Francisco, Calif., in which the Pokémon World Championships will take place.

Both Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon are poised to be released for Nintendo 3DS on Nov. 18 in the major markets of United States and Australia, with a United Kingdom release following five days later.
