Three weeks ago, Apple debuted the developer preview of macOS Sierra at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2016, and now the company unveiled the second version of macOS 10.12 through the Mac App Store.

One of the most notable additions in the new macOS Sierra is the fact that Siri finally lands on the Mac. Additionally, the developers say that other commended features, such as Apple Pay for Safari and Auto Unlock will be part of the beta variant, making the release quite engaging.

But what are the advantages of having Siri work on the Mac?

Well, first of all it will permit users to swiftly find the files they need or identify the information they require via voice searches. The coders wrote new Continuity features that include the Universal Clipboard, which lets users copy content from one Apple device to another in no time. Another neat feature comes to Apple Watch wearers: through Auto Unlock, they will be able to get access to their locked Macs.

What is more, advanced iCloud integration gives users access to the Mac files sitting on their desktop or Documents folder from all other devices. Photography enthusiasts will see a slew of enhancements in the deep learning algorithms concerning object, scene and facial recognition.

Keep in mind that a novel Memories function makes looking at collections of photos even more immersive. Users will also be able to tap into Messages app features such as bigger emojis, rich links and "Tapback" responses.

Online payments will be also easier via Apple Pay in the macOS Sierra. Users can log in using their iPhones and Apple Watches. Actions in the OS will be easier via multiple tabs, Picture in Picture multitasking and customized storage options.

What are the important changes in Beta 2 of the operating system?

As mentioned, Apple Watch wearers will be able to Auto Unlock their Macs. Keep in mind that for the feature to work, users need to have the iCloud account with a Two-Factor (not Two-Step) Authentication enabled. Also, the Mac must belong to the 2013+ generations. Additional requirements come in form of iOS 10 and watchOS 3.

To summarize, the macOS Sierra beta 2 is filled to the brim with under-the-hood tweaks and interesting features that will give the Mac an extra edge.
