At the recently held 2014 Paris Motor Show, luxury car maker Maserati introduced the latest product of its collaboration with luxury fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna: the 2015 Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna Edition.

While Maserati has been devoting plenty of attention to the company's high-end sports vehicles and historical models for Maserati's centennial year, the unveiling of the Ghibli Zegna shows that the entry-level vehicle of the company is not forgotten in the 2014 celebrations.

Maserati describes the limited edition Ghibli as a vehicle that targets "precious detail lovers," adding that some details introduced in the Ghibli Zegna could be added to the regular Ghibli models.

The Zegna-themed details of the vehicle begin with the special tri-coat finish of the car's paint, which is named the Azzuro Astro. The color, which is supposed to enhance the lines of the Ghibli, sends out tones of blue or ash grey depending on the angle through which light hits the vehicle's body. To add depth to the finish, a top coat of transparent paint is added onto the car.

Changes to the exterior also include a set of 20-inch alloy wheels with a unique paint finish of "liquid metal."

While the exterior upgrades of the Ghibli Zegna are already remarkable, many of the changes are found in the interior, catering to the expertise of Zegna. The inside of the car features a two-tone finish that combines anthracite silk and leather tones.

Silk is a specialty of Zegna, and its use in the seat squabs and door panels reflects the fashion house's personal touch on the vehicle. The interior is completed with natural-color leather that is utilized in areas of the seats exposed to more wear, the car's dashboard and the arm rests and center console.

The leather is actually from Poltrona Frau, a famous furniture maker, and it adds to the luxurious feel that the car already exudes.

The interior also features a carbon fiber insert, most notably in the center tunnel that also has a plate with the text "Ermenegildo Zegna Edition."

The limited edition Ghibli will only have one choice for an engine, which is a 404hp twin-turbocharged V6 engine that boasts a 4.8-second time for 0-62mph. The top speed of the vehicle is at 176mph.

Only 100 units of the Ghibli Zegna will be produced, making this very unique vehicle a prime target for enthusiasts and collectors alike.
