PS4 players will be the first of console gamers to experience the newest Overwatch character, Ana, and Torbjörn's nerfed turrets.

As for Xbox users, developers reveal that the patch for the console is currently undergoing certificate discussions within Microsoft and should be rolling in a future update; specific dates are yet to be announced. Do not hold your breath, though, as it is highly unlikely any announcement will be made by Blizzard before it launches — if the PS4 update is to be followed, that is, as it just appeared out of nowhere.

The veteran Ana will be adding to the game's roster of support characters with an affinity for sniper shooting. She basically shoots at anyone using her one-shot darts, which either deal damage over time against foes or heal allies; sadly, no, her darts do not her heal her over time.

These heal shots can, however, be boosted through her Biotic Grenade that increases healing rates from any source while providing a few points of health. Ana's grenades have negative effects on enemies as well that not only damages them but temporarily prevents affected foes caught within its blast radius from receiving any heal support.

Her ultimate skill is Nano Boost, which is a purely supportive skill (and a highly effective one at that!) as it provides allies with a surge of raw power that adds damage to their weapons and makes them move faster, alongside reduced damage taken from enemies. A player can turn the tides of a seemingly dire situation if they know their Ana playstyle very well — actually, this can be said for all Overwatch heroes.

The update also brings the (demanded) nerf for Torbjörn's turrets that players would previously utilize (or exploit?) in a team full of the Swedish engineers; particularly, in defensive roles wherein a full line of turrets is proven to be very effective and bad news for the attacking team. The turret's damages have been reduced by 30 percent, which should balance out future gameplay.

In addition, Blizzard is making sure that instances such as these — where teams are mostly composed of one hero — will be avoided in the future for ranked gameplays as the upcoming patch adds a restriction to Competitive Play matches, limiting hero selection to only one instance of each character on each team.

Other updates include D.Va's better capabilities in tanking, related balances between most heroes and the usual bug and glitch fixes. It is also important to note that the working fix for a reported "progress loss" bug that sends PS4 players back to level 1 is yet to be released.
