Square Enix recently released a gameplay trailer for its upcoming mobile game, Mobius Final Fantasy, set to launch by Wednesday, Aug. 3.

The new trailer purportedly showcases in-game scenarios from the game app itself, featuring some of its combat sequences and the related finishing moves and stunts. As we've all seen before in an earlier announcement trailer, the latest release reiterates the games seemingly high-definition (HD) graphics that's usually encountered, if not only limited, to other gaming platforms such as the PS4 and Xbox One.

"At first glance, this mobile RPG seems to be on the same level of quality as a Final Fantasy console title, from the stunning graphics and story-driven gameplay to the action-packed battles and Moogles," notes Tech Times' Vincent Lanaria, adding that Mobius Final Fantasy will offer a range of different classes "not limited to Knight, Ranger, Thief, White Mage and Black Mage," which should allow for more varied combat mechanics.

Of course, like all Final Fantasy (FF) titles, the international version of Mobius Final Fantasy — the game has already been published a year ago in Japan, FYI — will carry a narrative element to it to further immerse old and incoming fans to the latest FF world while at the same time possibly unlock new experiences to the game franchise. The new Mobius storyline is created by Square Enix veteran Kazushige Nojima, whose notable works include FFVII, FFVIII and FFX, alongside the overall director of the mobile game's development, Yoshinori Kitase — known for his direction in FFVI, FFVII and Chrono Trigger.

And just in case you haven't heard, developer Square Enix is currently running a promo prior to the game's official launch, offering a number of exclusive in-game items. Players only have to pre-register for the game to unlock these items. To specify, once a target amount of registrants is reached, developers will unlock its accompanying item.

At the time of this writing, an overwhelming number of 154,722 players have signed up for the event, effectively unlocking the coveted Yuna character and Tidus' signature weapon from Final Fantasy X. A couple of in-game advantages have been achieved as well, the most recent of which is the Bronze Opener reward for skill panels at 150,000 players. The next two tiers, at 200,000 and 250,000, will unlock one unit of a Spirit Ticket, used to befriend new spirits, and one unit of Extranger, to further enhance ability cards, respectively.

We strongly urge readers to sign up for the event since, after all, it's offered for free with the included in-app purchases.
