Pokémon GO has a level cap of 40 for now and one player has claimed to have hit just that.

Since the mobile game rolled out, players have been speculating what would happen if the maximum level was hit. According to some, the reward could be in the form of a rare Master Ball, which was found in the game's code. According to Reddit user _problemz, however, the Pokémon GO player who has actually hit the level, it's a different kind of Poké Ball and more.

He posted about his achievement on Reddit, showing that he got 40 Ultra Balls/Hyper Balls, 40 Max Revives, 40 Max Potions, 40 Razz Berries, four incubators, four Lure Modules and four incenses, as well as an item that doubles XP earned for 30 minutes and four Lucky Eggs.

Given the player has already hit the level cap, he has no use for Lucky Eggs right now, but it does hint that the cap may be eventually raised.

Those inspired by _problemz's accomplishment, however, should know that he was able to hit the Pokémon GO level cap with the help of a bot. Had he gone down the legitimate route, he would have had to earn over 50,000 XP every day for a whole year to reach the level cap.

There are different ways to earn XP and successfully capturing a Pokémon is just one of them. Players can also gain XP through PokéStop interactions (50 XP) and throw bonuses (10 to 100 XP) and by hatching an Egg (2KM at 200 XP), defeating an enemy Pokémon at a Gym (100 XP per Pokémon), adding a Pokémon to the Pokédex (500 XP) and evolving a Pokémon (500 XP).

Similarly impressive is another player's achievement: catching every Pokémon found in North America. That's 142 Pokémon for Nick Johnson, who managed to do all that catching within two weeks of the game being released.

Unlike Luca, however, Johnson did all the footwork (literally--he said his Health app indicated that he averaged 8 miles of walking in a day), although an Uber did help him get to where a Pokémon can be found. The last Pokémon he needed was Omastar, which Johnson evolved himself from an Omanyte, while his first was Squirtle.

According to him, the best hunting spots in New York City are Battery Park and Central Park. Johnson also underscored the importance of egg incubators, saying they're the best in-game purchase players can make, and good walking shoes.
