Xiaomi has just taken the wraps off its 5.5-inch Redmi Pro offering, but now a new leak reveals that the device's smaller sibling is already in the pipeline.

According to a Weibo post of a well-known Chinese leakster KJuma, Xiaomi is set to boost its Redmi lineup with a 5.2-inch compact smartphone offering, dubbed Redmi Pro Mini.

KJuma shared what seems to be a poster for the alleged Xiaomi smartphone and offers a peek into the design, specs and pricing of the impending handset. KJuma has a decent track record when it comes to leaks and we could potentially be looking at the real deal.

The images of the Redmi Pro Mini bear a strong resemblance to the Redmi Pro. The notable difference between the two of course is the screen size. While the Redmi Pro sports a 5.5-inch OLED touchscreen, the smaller sibling will tout a 5.2-inch OLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

Under the hood, the Redmi Pro Mini will allegedly house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, which has an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.8 GHz (four Cortex-A53 and four Cortex-A72 cores).

The smartphone will also boast a 2.5D curved glass for protection. It will also have a fingerprint scanner, which will be on the front of the device and embedded in the Home button. The Redmi Pro Mini will also pack in a powerful 4,000 mAh battery and support 18 W charging.

For those wondering if like its bigger sibling, the Redmi Pro Mini will also offer a dual camera on the rear of the device — the answer is no. The leaked poster suggests that the Redmi Pro Mini will have a single lens rear-facing camera. However, it will offer support for a dual-tone LED flash, found below the sensor.

The Redmi Pro Mini will be available in three different variants — 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB of storage, 4 GB of RAM with 32 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM with 128 GB of storage.

The standard 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB of storage model of the midrange Xiaomi handset will reportedly be priced at 1,499 yuan, which is equivalent to about $225.

The 4 GB of RAM with 32 GB of storage model will be priced at 1,699 yuan, which is approximately $255. Meanwhile, the 4 GB of RAM with 128 GB of storage variant will require one to shell out 1,899 yuan, which is about $286.

The release window of the Redmi Pro Mini is not yet known, but if the leak is genuine, we could presume that the handset may see the light of day in this quarter.
