Spotify is expanding on its Discover Weekly feature to now bring users a way to find newly released music that will be their latest song obsessions.

Called Release Radar, the new music discovery feature consists of a personalized playlist for each user which is updated each Friday and includes only music that was just released.

"With the huge amount of new music released every week, it can be difficult to keep up with the latest tracks," Matt Ogle, Senior Product Owner at Spotify, said in a press release. "With Release Radar, we wanted to create the simplest way for you to find all the newly released music that matters the most to you, in one playlist."

Release Radar allows Spotify users to not miss out on the new single that was just dropped from their favorite artist, and like Discover Weekly, uses an algorithm to bring on the tracks that that specific user would enjoy based on their preferences and previous listening history.

Spotfy's Release Radar differs from New Music Friday since the latter exposes users to new artists they might not know, whereas this new feature is all about bringing the listener music from those artists they follow and listen to frequently.

Of course, the more the user listens to music on the platform, the smarter Release Radar will get when it comes to their evolving taste in content.

The playlist will be updated each Friday, perfect timing for finding that new weekend jam (like DJ Snake and Justin Bieber's "Let Me Love You" that was just released on Spotify), and includes two hours worth of new music, with the option to save a particular song to the user's collection.

Spotify users can find their Release Radar playlist by going to the Discover > New Releases for You section on the desktop or mobile app version of the streaming service.

With so many music discovery features added to streaming services, Release Radar actually sounds like a great way to be exposed to music users might not otherwise hear right away. It follows in the footsteps of Discover Weekly, which also consists of a personalized playlist, but with a mix of new and recently-played songs that is updated every Monday. Users have streamed over 5 billion songs through Discover Weekly, so there is really good chance that Release Radar will become popular, too.

Spotify's Release Radar began rolling out today.
