Bandai Namco might have more than just Tekken 7, Dragon Ball: Xenoverse 2 and a mystery IP to show off at Gamescom this year. If recent comments are to be taken as such, then the company may very well unveil the first DLC for Dark Souls 3 during its panel.

Having arrived in March 2016, Dark Souls 3 featured the brutal and unforgiving gameplay that fans have come to expect over the years. Fortunately for fans, it was clear before it even arrived that this brutal gameplay would extend beyond various new game pluses and challenge runs, as the game would be two expansion packs that would be bundled together through the Season Pass.

Since then, the most we've known about the alleged DLC is that the first one would be arriving this fall. However, that may soon change in the very near future. One eagle-eyed redditor noticed a conversation on the official Dark Souls Facebook page that suggests the first DLC for Dark Souls 3 will be revealed during Gamescom.

In a seemingly unsolicited post, the official page wrote on Monday: "Friends, a lot of you are curious about DLC. We understand that. Sit tight and we'll have more information for you when it becomes available. Not deliberately hiding information just to mislead. As we all know, the dev team plays its cards close to the chest."

When one user responded by suggesting that this was a hint for a Gamescom reveal, the official page responded by saying, "hmmm, wouldn't that be interesting timing."

You can see the full conversation here.

Obviously, this isn't outright confirmation that Bandai Namco will reveal the DLC there, but it certainly would be a prime time to do so. Souls games have a history of having their DLC revealed just months before they actually arrive — Crown of the Sunken King for Dark Souls II was revealed in June 2014 and released the following month, and The Old Hunters for Bloodborne was revealed in September 2015 and released in November. What's more, Bandai Namco is confirmed to be in attendance.

Other than not outright saying it will, the only things that refute this assumption is that Bandai Namco has never been the one to reveal the DLC. From Software revealed the DSII DLC, and Sony did the same for Bloodborne.

Fortunately, even if Dark Souls 3 doesn't have its DLC revealed during Gamescom, it's unlikely that fans would have to wait too long anyway, as TGS is just around the corner. Even then, it still might not be revealed.

In short, there's definitely reason to be excited, but don't get your hopes too high.
