It looks like Microsoft is heating things up with Apple once again with a new Surface Pro 4 commercial that tears the iPad Pro a new one.

In the brutal video titled "What's a computer? Just ask Cortana," there's a blowout going on, and Cortana asks Siri what it's all about. The iOS and macOS virtual assistant then responds, saying that it's because it just got the new Smart Keyboard and telling Cortana that it's a "computer now, like you."

After that, the Microsoft helper proceeds to ask a slew of questions that makes Siri rethink about throwing a party and ultimately ends up saying, "Maybe this party thing wasn't such a good idea."

On that note, the series of shots fired at the iPad Pro include questions about its processor, support for the full version of Office as opposed to the app version, a trackpad and USB ports.

Long story short, what Cortana is trying to tell Siri is that it can't call itself and the iPad Pro a real computer just because it got a keyboard, not to mention that it adds insult to injury by implying it only runs a mobile OS and not a full-fledged desktop OS like the Windows 10 Pro.

Sure, the Surface Pro 4 is arguably the more capable computing device between the two, but rubbing it in the iPad Pro's face just doesn't seem right. In other words, Siri just wanted to have fun and show off to the world that it's now more flexible, and Cortana isn't having any of it in an uncalled-for way.

At any rate, it does seem interesting to see two prominent figures in the tech industry going at it again. Perhaps the Redmond firm just wants a little fun too and some more healthy competition.

It's also worth mentioning that the anticipated Surface Pro 5 is expected to launch with an Intel Kaby Lake chip sometime in 2017.

For the curious, the Surface Pro 4 is available at the Microsoft Store with a starting price of $899, and the Type Cover will hold customers back by $129.99.

Meanwhile, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro starts at $599 and the 12.9-inch model at $799, and the Smart Keyboard for the former costs $149 and for the latter $169.
