Google is expected to launch the Daydream VR in the "coming weeks," and to promote the upcoming platform, it's hiring the talent of YouTube stars such as the Dolan twins and Justine Ezarik.

Considering that the highly anticipated Android 7.0 Nougat rolled out just a few days ago, it's hard to imagine that the updated VR system is far from a release too. Just to be clear on that, the Google Cardboard successor is compatible with the latest Android OS.

According to a recent Bloomberg report, the Mountain View company is planning on including a variety of VR content, ranging from video game-based experiences to films and whatnot.

At this point, it should be pointed out that Google will not only include YouTube celebrities' 360-degree videos in the mix and provide funds for them, but it's also getting projects from major producers. Apparently, the Alphabet division is working closely with Hulu for media, and more than that, it's also striking deals with sports leagues and video game companies.

On that note, sources familiar with the matter say that the firm is still testing the waters to find out which projects will work, but at any rate, it's coughing up "high six figures" for the video game side of things and "from low five figures to low six figures" for ventures involving filmmakers and internet personalities. Since this is arguably the first major investment that Google is making in the VR industry, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that it's careful about spending.

When Daydream VR started to make the rounds online, many people have started to speculate just how big it will be, and in light of this development, it looks like plenty are saying that this will likely become a forerunner in the market.

"Google's Daydream will help advance mobile virtual reality. Mobile virtual reality is what's going to get the most people to strap things on their head," Oren Rosenbaum, United Talent Agency digital media agent, tells Bloomberg.

Now, it's worth mentioning that Google said that the current flagships aren't going to be Daydream compatible back in May. Fast-forward to today, there are the new and upcoming smartphones that'll support it from Samsung, HTC, Xiaomi, ZTE, Asus, Alcatel, LG and Huawei.

Anyone who wants to prepare as soon as possible might be interested in checking out the ZTE Axon 7, as it's touted as the first Daydream-ready smartphone.
