Samsung has finally launched its latest flagship smartphone Galaxy Note 7 in China, with the smartphone now up for preorders in the Asian country.

However, notably missing in the preorder options is the rumored version of the smartphone exclusively for China that is packed with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.

The Galaxy Note 7 was initially expected to be powered by 6 GB of RAM across all versions, but customers were disappointed when it was revealed that the smartphone will only have 4 GB of RAM.

There were still rumors that Samsung will be releasing a version of the device with 6 GB of RAM though, with several reports claiming that such a Galaxy Note 7 will be exclusive for the Chinese market.

With preorders for the Galaxy Note 7 now up in China, it appears that the largest smartphone market in the world will only be seeing the same specifications for the smartphone as the rest of the world.

In the listing on the official website of Samsung for China, the Galaxy Note 7 is only shown to have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, similar to the specifications of the device in other markets. The smartphone carries a price tag of 5,988 yuan, equivalent to about $897, for the SIM-free and unlocked version, with shipments to begin by Sept. 1.

The version of the Galaxy Note 7 for China also features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, similar to the models for the United States, as opposed to Samsung's proprietary Exynos chipset that powers all the other versions for the rest of the world.

While 4 GB of RAM already makes for a very powerful smartphone, the demand for devices with 6 GB of RAM has escalated recently due to some manufacturers releasing products with such computing power.

A 6 GB RAM, 128 GB internal storage version of the Galaxy Note 7 was spotted on Geekbench, which further escalated the excitement regarding the supposed China-exclusive smartphone. While the version is not among the options in the launched preorder of the device in the country, it might not necessarily mean that the rumors are fake and that such a version will never be released.

There is always the possibility that Samsung will be launching a Galaxy Note 7 with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage in the future. However, as the company is still not making an official announcement regarding the device, Samsung fans will have no choice but to wait on Samsung for news on whether the version is real or not.
