At long last, after what seemed like an eternity of rumors and worrying, the One-Punch Man TV anime is confirmed to be getting a second season.

One's One-Punch Man had humble beginnings, starting off as a simple self-published web comic in 2009. Soon, however, the antics of protagonist Saitama gained immense popularity in Japan (and later the globe), inspiring a digital manga in Shueisha's "Young Jump Web Comics" in 2012 and an anime that ran from October to December 2015. Unfortunately, the series became a "victim" of its popularity, and fans were ready for more as soon as the first season ended.

Well, now they're getting it.

Appearing at the "One-Punch Man Fall Festival" event on Sunday, Sept. 25, the staff and cast for the anime adaptation of One-Punch Man announced that it would be getting a second season. Soon afterward, they took to Twitter and revealed the exciting news to the world.

It's been a long road for One-Punch Man's second season and it's finally coming to an end. As mentioned before, interest in the series had been there from the very beginning, however, it wasn't until December when things really started to take off.

It started when manga illustrator Yusuke Murata announced he would work with Madhouse Inc., the studio behind the adaptation, to make the second season a reality. In order to do this, his team needed to come up with 100 sketches, 100 inked pages and 100 storyboards along with 10 hours of editing works for the second season.

After that announcement, however, no new information on that front surfaced, leading many to believe the anime had been delayed - or worse, scrapped.

Things took a turn for the better earlier this year though, when reports alleged that One and Murata had already began working on the initial requirements to kick-start production of the anime series. The news came from a source reportedly close to the situation, however, since there was no link or name attributed to said source, the veracity of those reports remained unknown.

Of course, none of that matters now that the team behind the anime has confirmed a second season.

Unfortunately, all we know at the moment is that the anime will be getting a second season. Things such as number of episodes, arcs the new season will cover and an airing date are currently unknown; however, it's likely more information will be revealed later down the road.
