Several gamers of No Man's Sky for the PlayStation 4 and PC have requested a refund due to being misled by the developer. For those persons who are not happy with the outcome of the game but looking for another similar game, the Astroneer might be the one.

The game is all about traveling throughout the universe, finding planets and reaping the rewards. It's basically a gold rush in space, and guess what? Players can team up with others to have that extra bit of fun.

Astroneer, like No Man's Sky, is procedural generated, but only to a degree. Many parts of the game have been handcrafted by the developers, and that's a good thing because in theory, it should make the world more fun.

After looking at the trailer, we can see where gamers have the ability to generate objects on the fly. For example, if there's a cliff and they'd like to travel across to the other side, it appears as if players could build a bridge to get across.

Furthermore, we like the option where players can dig tunnels into a planet. All this is done using a special gun, and it looks great. Now, if you're expecting great graphics on the scale of No Man's Sky, then don't. Astroneer has a completely different art style that might or might not garner a host of followers.

"Astroneer is a game about exploration and creativity. The worlds in Astroneer are diverse, each combining careful artistry and procedural generation to create unique and beautiful experiences. Yet, each world can be reshaped by your tools. The entire volume of the world can be dug, sculpted, or added to at your whim. Every cubic inch of every world is accessible to you. Excavate vast underground tunnels or create megaliths on the surface; the world is your Play-Doh," says Brendan Wilson, co-founder at System Era Softworks.

Now, the thing that sets Astroneer apart from No Man's Sky is the ability to play with your friends via online co-op. A single person can play with up to three additional players, and guess what? They can build bases together.

What about creatures?

We're not sure where creatures fit in, or if they even exist within the game's many worlds. We do know there's fauna, so anything is possible by this point.

One can only hope the developers do not promise things that do not make it in the final game. Look what happened to No Man's Sky where many gamers requested refunds. Speaking of No Man's Sky, a new patch was recently released, but no word if it brings to the table new features.

Astroneer will launch on the Xbox One and PC later this year.
