In just a year, Samsung Pay has been able to establish its presence in America's digital monetary system. It will be celebrating its first anniversary on U.S. soil where it was able to institute a network that covers over 80 percent of the debit and credit card market across the continent.

According to Nana Murugesan, VP/GM of Service and New Business at Samsung Electronics America, Samsung Pay redefined what clients can anticipate from a digital wallet.

As part of its technologically driven financial operations, the Samsung's subsidiary introduces new fundamentals that include app-based coupon service, rewards program and cloud storage. In partnership with Quotient Technology Inc., Samsung Pay incorporates the search, saving and redemption of coupons into an application.

Currently, over 500 banks across the nation are connected to Samsung Pay as these financial institutions reinforce their customers' banking experience with simple, secure and rewarding digital processes.

As part of the South Korean Company's first celebration, Samsung Pay will be giving away 365 Gear S2 smartwatches that cost $299 each. A total of $100,000 in watches will be available to lucky winners.

The promotion is open to all U.S. legal residents who use Samsung Pay through their Samsung units. In order to enter, participants must send an emoji birthday greeting to @SamsungPayUS via Twitter. It is important to follow the account and allow it to be a follower of the participant's portfolio. Entries for the Samsung Pay Sweepstakes should be sent not later than Sept. 28, 11:59 p.m. ET, according to the rules provided.

People affiliated in any way with Samsung Electronics America, Inc., are disqualified to join the Samsung Pay Sweepstakes. All taxes imposed will be the sole responsibility of the winners.

Based on the submitted entries, the 365 winners will be randomly chosen on or before Sept. 30. The drawing of prizes will be conducted by Daniel J. Edelman, Inc., whose decisions on all matters shall be considered final. Winners will be notified and prizes are non-transferrable and no cash substation will follow. Service for the Gear S2 is excluded.

The website's computer timestamp will be considered the official timekeeper for the promotion. It is essential that winners should respond directly to arrange the prize claim within 24 hours of the notification.

Meanwhile, Samsung manages to add financial group Capital One to its Samsung Pay partners.

Murugesan adds that Samsung Pay has become a leader in mobile payments in the U.S. by giving clients innovative services that can be utilized for shopping anywhere.
